The Maroon clownfish, also known as the Spine-Cheeked Anemonefish, is a popular choice among aquarist’s for their reef tanks because of their unique appearance. The Maroon Clownfish has a bold, red body color with a broad white stripe on the forehead, and white stripes on its midsection and in front of the anal fin.
Maroon clownfish are low maintenance, stunning to look at, and are one of the most aggressive of the clownfishes. They are very territorial and will not get along well with any other clownfish in the same tank unless they are a mated pair.
As far as clownfishes go, Maroon clownfish can get pretty large, growing up to about 6 inches, in length, with the female clownfish being much larger and more aggressive than the male.
