The Vanderbilt Chromis Damsel, Chromis vanderbilti, is a very colorful and active schooling fish found in the Pacific Ocean. Their striking yellow and blue hues on this fish make it an excellent addition to any saltwater aquarium.

As well, the Vanderbilt Chromis fish is docile and easy-going, these saltwater fish can make wonderful additions to multi-species aquariums. Vanderbilt Chromis should school together and are a peaceful fish and will not bother other fish, coral or inverts. This makes them a great choice for reef tanks.

Vanderbilt Chromis do best, when kept in groups of three or more and larger groups as well if introduced at the same time. Vanderbilt Chromis reach a maximum adult size of around 3 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 29 gallons in size.

Diet

Vanderbilt Chromis are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in both meaty and green foods.

In the aquarium, you can feed them with copepods, brine shrimp, small or finely chopped food such as mysis, fish meat, shrimp, mussels, cyclops etc. You can also give them flake food. Make sure they also get some vegetable food. You can give them flakes which contain some vegetables or spirulina flakes.
